Survey Crew Chief

We are currently seeking a strong leader for a Survey Crew Chief position to support Survey operations based out of our Lancaster, PA office. This position is responsible for supervising, assigning and reviewing the work of staff responsible for technical survey services and will also oversee and participate in all survey activities related to assigned projects.

Responsibilities:

• Meet with Project Managers and clients to determine survey needs
• Perform boundary and topographic surveys in the field
• Establish survey project specifications; interpret and apply applicable state and   local laws
• Calculate a wide variety of survey data
• Oversee and participate in the preparation of computer-generated maps and reports based on survey data
• Maintain accurate records, files and documentation including field notes
• Supervise, develop, and mentor direct reports
• Coordinate work activities internally to provide seamless client service
• Monitor and evaluate the overall performance of team members

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Minimum 2-5 years as a Survey Party Chief is desired
• Computer skills with Civil 3D, Trimble Business Center, Microsoft Office, Word and Excel a plus
• Skill in operating all survey instruments specifically and including Trimble GPS, Robotic Total Stations, Trimble data collectors, and automatic levels
• Valid Driver’s License with acceptable driving record
• Ability to perform moderate lifting, standing, and walking for extended periods of time and working in all types of weather conditions outdoors
• Ability to perform fundamental trigonometry and geometry computations.
